If you don’t have a boat, then fish along the beach from the Theodolite Creek to the Burrum River, or try the estuary of the creek or river.

Buy your bait at one of the shops or catch your own yabbies in the creek or river. Sand worms can also be caught on the beach at low tide, but this does require some expertise.

For those with a boat, there is an ocean ramp in front of the Hotel. There are a number of access points to the beach along the Esplanade if you have a 4WD or access to a tractor.

There is a chain ramp at the Theodolite Creek that is accessable from half in tide to half out.

At Walkers Point (all bitumen road now) is a concrete, all tide, boat ramp.
